Radiology Technician Schools in North America



Radiology technician schools are marked by rigorous academics and hours working under the guidance of a radiology technician in a real world environment. Hillsborough Community College


Hillsborough Community College is one of the largest community colleges in the country serving over 28,000 students. It is located in Hillsborough County, Florida and has campus locations in seven different Florida locations.

The radiology program is 22 months in length once students are admitted. The program receives approximately 100 applicants each round and can accept 20 students. Course prerequisites include.

  • English Composition
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology
  • Psychology
  • College Algebra or higher
Students must are scheduled for clinical hours from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm three days per week.

Argosy University


Argosy University offers several programs online and on campus. Their AAS in radiologic technology is offered at their Twin Cities campus in Minnesota. The program is 72 credits and can be completed in 24 months. Students can take 36 months to complete. Admissions requirements include:

  • ACT composite score of 20 or above or
  • Combined Math and Verbal SAT score of 960 or above
  • Passing score on Argosy Entrance Exam

Kaplan College


Kaplan College is a large college network with campuses all across the country. It is currently ranked as one of the best radiology technician schools and offers the program at its North Hollywood location. The Kaplan program is a diploma program meaning students can get done in approximately 12 months. Students who graduate from the program are eligible for entry level radiologist technician jobs at hospitals and clinics.

The curriculum is career focused and based around the skills deemed important by the California State Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch, and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Columbia Basin College


Columbia Basin College is a two-year community college located in the Eastern Washington town of Pasco, WA. Their radiology program is two years in length and is one of the most rigorous in the West. Applicants are admitted once per year with the program starting every summer quarter and running for eight consecutive quarters. The most qualified applicants are admitted based upon

  • GPA
  • Prerequisite course completion – cell biology, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, statistics, English comp, and communications
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Basic Skills Test
